• Four (5) recent photographs

• Size – 35mm x 45mm

• White background

• No white – coloured clothing

• If wearing glasses, a medical certificate confirming prescription

  is required

• Photo must clearly show the eyes

1.NEW NATIONAL ID CARD APPLICATION

• Full address information

• Original birth certificate

• Information on parents’ place of birth

• Copies of parents’ Eritrean ID Cards

N.B. : If parents are deceased and their ID cards are unavailable:- Copy of paternal uncle/ aunt’s ID (father’s side)-Copy of maternal uncle/aunt’s ID (mother’s side)- If unavailable, a document certified by three witnesses from the place of origin and authenticated by the Department of Consular Affairs in Asmara and sent to the Embassy. - If no relatives are available, court -certified documentation may be submitted. A close relative representative (on father’s or mother’s side) must provide – Full name, address, phone number, and ID number

2 . REPLACEMENT OF NEW NATIONAL ID CARD

• All documents required in NO.1

• Orignal/ Copy of your Previous ID

3 . AMENDMENT OF NATIONAL ID CARD

• All documents required in NO.1

• Amendment must be supported by a court decision

• Verification of amendment must be done by Consular Office in

  Asmara before processing

4 . REPLACEMENT OF LOST ID CARD

• All documents required in NO.1

• Police report confirming the loss

• Copy of ID card (If available)

• If no copy is available, confirmation from the Eritrean

  immigration and Nationality Department
